PHILADELPHIA –– A Pennsylvania federal court has denied defense efforts to obtain summary judgment in an asbestos case, concluding in part that a reasonable jury could find that the companies knew its products required asbestos-containing products to function properly.
In a Feb. 14 opinion, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found that genuine issues of material fact existed as to whether the three defendants were entitled to summary judgment.
