Ind. Federal Jury Declines to Award Punitive Damages in Bellwether Cook IVC Case

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana federal jury has declined to award punitive damages to the plaintiff in a bellwether Cook Medical IVC filter case after awarding her $3 million in compensatory damages on her defective design claims.
The Feb. 5 verdict was handed down in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana following a trial that began on Jan. 14, with Judge Richard Young presiding.
