Maryland Appellate Court Refuses to Accept Jurisdiction Over Asbestos-Related Discovery

BALTIMORE –– The Maryland Special Court of Appeals has found that it does not have jurisdiction over an asbestos dispute, concluding that if it accepted jurisdiction of the discovery-related dispute, it would “risk infringing on circuit courts’ authority to direct and resolve the cases before them.”

In the Dec. 6 order, the appellate court wrote that the fact that the materials have been disclosed through discovery does not mean that such information will be admissible at trial.
