Roundup MDL Judge Mulls Possibility of Bifurcating Upcoming Bellwether Trial




SAN FRANCISCO –– The judge overseeing the national multidistrict litigation docket for Roundup personal injury claims has requested briefing from the parties on bifurcation of the upcoming bellwether trial, according to a recent pretrial order.

In Pretrial Order No. 58, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California asked that, in their briefing, the parties discuss whether the second phase of the trial could proceed at a later date before a different jury if the court chooses to bifurcate the proceedings.
