La. Court Tosses Asbestos Claims Against Huntington Ingalls on Timeliness Grounds

NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has awarded summary judgment to Huntington Ingalls Inc. in an asbestos exposure suit, finding that the claims were time-barred in light of the fact that the plaintiff was unreasonable in her “inaction” to file the suit within one year of her mother’s death.
In the Dec. 3 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana dismissed the claims with prejudice.
