La. Court Affirms Judgment for Honeywell, Says Turner Owed Indemnification for Asbestos-Related Claims

BATON ROUGE, La. –– A Louisiana appellate court has affirmed an award of judgment to Honeywell International Inc. in a dispute over indemnification for asbestos claims, finding that the contract language at issue was unambiguous.

In the Nov. 2 order, the Louisiana Court of Appeals for the First Circuit found that the evidence shows that the contracts entered into between Honeywell and Turner Industries “clearly … provided indemnity for Honeywell’s own negligence or indemnity for Honeywell’s strict liability.”
