La. Jury Awards $5.475 Million at Conclusion of Asbestos Trial Against Main Iron Works




NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana jury has awarded asbestos plaintiffs nearly $5.5 million at the conclusion of a mesothelioma trial, accepting the plaintiff’s claims that the decedent was exposed to asbestos-containing products while working as an insulator.

The Louisiana Civil District Court for Orleans Parish jury reached the verdict on Oct. 23 after a six-day trial and several hours of deliberations. Judge Paulette Irons presided over the trial.
