Calif. Man Says DJO Medical Failed to Warn of Injury Risk Posed by Walking Boot

SAN DIEGO — A California man has filed a putative class action against DJO Global Inc. in federal court, alleging its thick sole walking boot can cause knee, hip and back pain and even permanent injuries, necessitating hip replacement surgery.

In an Oct. 18 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Daniel Dreifort says DJO “does not warn consumers or otherwise communicate the potential for pain or injury” posed by its Aircast Airselect Elite boot.
