Ill. Jury Awards $6 Million at Conclusion of Pipefitter’s Asbestos Trial Against John Crane




CHICAGO –– An Illinois jury has awarded more than $6 million to the daughter of a former pipefitter, finding John Crane liable for the decedent’s development of mesothelioma.

The Illinois Circuit Court for Cook County jury reached the verdict on Oct. 10. John Crane was the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict. Judge Clare Elizabeth McWilliams presided over the trial.

John Crane will be responsible for 100 percent of the verdict, sources told HarrisMartin.

Plaintiff Sharon Daniels filed the claims on behalf of her father, Patrick O’Reilly, who immigrated with his wife from Ireland in 1957. …
