PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania federal judge has dismissed as time-barred a case involving Zimmer Inc.’s Kinectiv Technology hip implant system with a VerSys femoral head, ruling that the plaintiff knew or should have known more than two years before filing suit that her hip pain may be linked to the device.

On Aug. 14, Judge Edward G. Smith of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found the plaintiff’s testimony regarding her pain and multiple visits to her surgeon establishes that she should have known of at least some form of significant harm.
