Brenntag North America Joins Challenges to Jurisdiction in Asbestos Cosmetic Talc Case

TAMPA, Fla. –– Brenntag North America has filed a motion to dismiss an asbestos cosmetic talc suit on jurisdiction grounds, joining several other defendants who have challenged the suit on the basis that the court cannot exercise personal jurisdiction over the companies since their contacts with Florida are insufficient.

In a July 12 motion filed in the Florida 13th Judicial Circuit for Hillsborough County, the defendant argued that the plaintiff had failed to allege any facts “establishing that a Florida court can exercise personal jurisdiction over BNA in this matter.”
