N.Y. Appellate Court Agrees to Allow Additional Time for Appeal of Asbestos Talc Verdict

NEW YORK –– A New York appellate court has granted a defense motion for an enlargement of time to perfect the appeal of a $7 million verdict in an asbestos talc case, delaying the appeal until 30 days after the court determines the appeal in another asbestos case involving questions of dosage.

In the July 3 order, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, ordered that the time to perfect the appeal to be enlarged to the November 2018 term, “with leave to seek further enlargements, if necessary.”
