Symmetry Medical Dismissed from M-Cor Hip Case for Lack of Jurisdiction

SPOKANE, Wash. - A Washington federal judge has dismissed without prejudice claims asserted against Symmetry Medical Inc. in an M-Cor System hip replacement action, finding the court lacks jurisdiction because the company did not direct its business activities toward the state.
However, in the April 11 order Judge Rosanna M. Peterson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington allowed the plaintiffs — for the purpose of establishing personal jurisdiction — to conduct limited discovery into whether Symmetry knew its components were being sent to Washington.
