NEW YORK – A New York jury has awarded $60 million at the conclusion of an asbestos trial involving asbestos-containing boilers, sources confirmed to HarrisMartin.

The New York Supreme Court for New York County jury reached the verdict on April 9. According to the verdict sheet, jurors allocated 25 percent liability to each of the three remaining defendants: A.O. Smith Corp., Burnham LLC, and Peerless Industries Inc.

The claims were brought on behalf of Pietro Macaluso, who allegedly developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos-containing boilers he encountered while working in New York as a laborer in the …
