Deadlines Extended 2nd Time in N.Y. Federal Applied Underwriters Action




NEW YORK – For the second time, a New York federal judge has extended discovery deadlines by four months in an action accusing Applied Underwriters Captive Risk Assurance Co. of carrying out a fraudulent workers' compensation scheme.

On March 12, Judge John G. Koeltl of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York accepted the parties’ explanation that they have been coordinating discovery efforts in the instant case and two similar cases, "so as to ensure efficient production of documents and ESI by defendants at the earliest possible date."
