Travelers, Allstate Agree to Litigate $1.25 Million Reinsurance Dispute in Conn. Federal Court

HARTFORD, Conn. - Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. and Allstate Insurance Co. have agreed to litigate a $1.25 million reinsurance dispute in Connecticut federal court after stipulating to dismissal without prejudice of a prior filed action in Illinois.

In a Feb. 6 notice filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Allstate withdrew its motion to dismiss the Connecticut case, and Travelers dropped its motion to enjoin Allstate from prosecuting the Illinois action.

Travelers issued a number of insurance policies to PPG Industries Inc., formerly Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. Certain of those policies also insured PPG's subsidiary, …
