ST. LOUIS –– Talcum powder defendants who removed a recently filed case to federal court have opposed plaintiff efforts to expedite a motion for hearing on their remand efforts, maintaining that the MDL Court should determine whether the in-state defendants have been fraudulently joined.

In a Jan. 19 opposition brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the Johnson & Johnson defendants said the underlying talcum powder case, originally filed in Missouri state court, presented “jurisdictional issues that are identical to those at issue in other talc actions slated for MDL Transfer and are therefore …
