Florida Resident Files Talcum Powder Complaint in State Court, Says 54-Year Use of Products Caused Ovarian Cancer

MIAMI –– A Florida resident has filed a new talcum powder lawsuit in state court, contending that her use of the defendants’ products for more than 50 years caused her to develop ovarian cancer.

In the Dec. 22 complaint, filed in the Florida 11th Judicial Circuit Court for Miami-Dade County, plaintiff Esther C. Comas contended that she used Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower products from 1963 until December 2017, when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Those products were a direct and proximate cause of her “regular and prolonged exposure to talc…,” the complaint said.
