FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –– A Florida state court has rejected challenges to jurisdiction from Imerys Talc America in a talcum powder lawsuit, rejecting the defendant’s position that the court could not exercise jurisdiction over it since the company is not at home in Florida.

In a one-page order issued Nov. 9, the Florida 17th Judicial Circuit for Broward County denied Imerys Talc America Inc.’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction.
