Pa. Supreme Court to Hear Arguments Relating to Component Parts Liability

PHILADEPHIA –– The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has issued an order stating that it will address questions relating to liability of a manufacturer who did not manufacture or distribute asbestos-containing component parts.

In an Oct. 26 order, the state high court additionally will address the inquiry as to whether, if such a duty to warn does exist, what the appropriate legal test would be to determine whether the company is in fact liable.

The order responded directly to a 3rd Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals order certifying the two questions of law.
