HarrisMartin: Missouri Talc Trial Delayed After High Court Issues Temporary Stay Order

ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Supreme Court has issued a temporary stay order, halting what would have been the seventh talcum powder case to proceed to trial in St. Louis County Circuit Court.

According to separate docket entries issued Oct. 13, the Missouri Supreme Court issued preliminary writs of prohibition in dockets created for petitions filed separately by Johnson & Johnson and Imerys Talc America, effectively postponing the Oct. 16 trial date.

Johnson & Johnson filed its writ of prohibitions on Oct. 3; the defendant filed a motion to expedite consideration of their petitions the same day. Imerys Talc …
