Xarelto Plaintiff Says ‘Striking’ New Evidence Warrants New Bellwether Trial

JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi woman who says Xarelto caused her to develop a deep vein thrombosis is seeking a new trial on the basis that “striking” new evidence supports her claims that the drug’s label should have informed doctors of the availability of a test to measure patients’ anticoagulation.

In a Sept. 15 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, plaintiff Dora Mingo says a new study and medical article conducted and co-authored by Bayer scientists was released as her trial was almost concluded.
