Philadelphia Benzene Plaintiff Seeks Order Compelling Attendance of Safety-Kleen Rep at Deposition

PHILADELPHIA –– Plaintiffs in a benzene case have asked a Pennsylvania state court to order defendant Safety-Kleen to appear at an oral deposition, contending that responses to the notice of deposition and requests for documents are “long overdue.”

In an Aug. 16 motion filed in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County, the plaintiffs sought to compel the attendance of Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. at an oral deposition, saying the defendant’s failure to appear or suggested alternative dates has been prejudicial to the plaintiffs.

The underlying benzene lawsuit was filed by plaintiff Bruce Rhyne.
