PHILADELPHIA — St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co. has adequately pleaded the existence of a contractual relationship between a reinsurance certificate and an underlying policy issued to Walter E. Cambell & Company Inc., a Pennsylvania federal judge has ruled in denying R&Q Reinsurance Co.’s motion for judgment on the pleadings.

In a May 12 order, Judge Berle Schiller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania held that St. Paul sufficiently pled the essential terms of the cession.
