Commercial Warehouse Owners Sue Insurer, Public Adjuster, Following Denial of Flood Claim

NEWARK, N.J. — The owners of a commercial warehouse in New Jersey have sued their Write Your Own insurers for breach of contract and bad faith, accusing them of wrongfully denying their claim for flood damages arising from a May 1, 2014, rainstorm.

In a complaint that was removed to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on April 27, the policyholders also sued a public adjuster and its owner, alleging they reasonably relied on their advice concerning compliance with policy terms in connection with the loss.
