CHICAGO –– A third-party medical consulting firm has filed a motion to quash subpoenas issued to it by NexGen Knee Implant defendant Zimmer Inc., contending in part that the documents are procedurally improper in that they seek individual discovery in non-bellwether cases, a violation of “common MDL practice.”

In an April 26 brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Physicians Medical Review also maintained that the subpoenas seek to obtain privileged information and are “overly broad and unreasonably burdensome.”
