Asbestos Plaintiff Asks Court to Reverse Orders Severing and Transferring Claims Against GE, Boeing

NEWARK, N.J. –– A plaintiff whose asbestos claims against General Electric and The Boeing Co. were recently severed and transferred to other federal courts have appealed the District Court’s ruling, maintaining that the severance of the claims into three separate jurisdictions “is manifestly unjust and creates inexplicable judicial inefficiency.”

In separate May 1 briefs, the plaintiff asks the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey to reverse a magistrate judge’s orders severing and transferring the claims, noting that they arise out of a single, indivisible injury.
