Gen Re Asks Conn. Judge to Reconsider Confirmation of Clarified Final Arbitration Award

HARTFORD, Conn. — General Re Life Corp. has asked a Connecticut federal judge to reconsider his confirmation of a clarified arbitration award that requires General Re to pay up to an additional $18 million in reinsurance proceeds to Lincoln National Life Insurance Co.

In an April 7 motion filed before Judge Victor Bolden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Gen Re said the matter should be remanded to the arbitration panel for resolution of a dispute over the calculation of a recapture payment under the clarified final award.
