New Talc Complaint Filed in Pennsylvania State Court; Plaintiff Says Court Has Jurisdiction Over Claims

PHILADELPHIA –– A new talcum powder complaint has been filed in Pennsylvania state court, with the plaintiff maintaining that the court has jurisdiction over the matter since the defendants introduced the products into interstate commerce “with knowledge and intent that such products be sold in the State of Pennsylvania.”

The lawsuit was filed on Feb. 28 in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County.

Plaintiff Melanie Finley filed the underlying claims, contending that her use of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder product caused her to develop ovarian cancer.
