ST. LOUIS –– Imerys Talc America has filed a reply brief supporting its post-trial motions in a talcum powder lawsuit, saying a recent decision from the Missouri Supreme Court supports its position that the court did not have personal jurisdiction over the company in a case that ended in a $70 million verdict.

In a March 10 brief filed in the Missouri Circuit Court for St. Louis City, Imerys Talc maintained that the high court’s decision makes it clear that the fact that the defendant had a registered agent in the state does not mean it consented to personal jurisdiction.
