D.C. Court Grants PCPC’s Motion to Dismiss Talc Claims Under Anti-SLAPP Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– A Washington, D.C. court has granted the Personal Care Products Council’s motion to dismiss talcum powder claims filed against the association, accepting the defendant’s position that the claims were barred by the Anti-SLAPP Act.

According to a Jan. 13 docket entry, the Superior Court of the District of Columbia said that a motion hearing was held, that the court discussed the statute governing PCPC’s special motion to dismiss and reviewed the parties’ filings.

“The court has granted Defendant’s Special Motion to Dismiss,” the court further stated. “Defendant has 10 days to submit attorney fees.”
