J&J Defendants File Appellate Brief Contesting Entry of Judgment in $72 Million Talcum Powder Verdict

ST. LOUIS –– Johnson & Johnson defendants contesting a $72 million verdict entered in the first talcum powder case to proceed to trial in Missouri have filed their appellate brief, arguing in part that the plaintiff’s expert “re-characterize” studies with which she disagreed.

In addition to filing their Jan. 26 appellate brief, the defendants separately requested oral argument from the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District.

The underlying claims addressed in the appellate brief were brought by Jacqueline Fox, who claimed that she developed ovarian cancer after using talcum powder products from Sept. 1953 to Jan. 2013 in both Alabama ...
