LOS ANGELES — A California federal judge has dismissed producer and writer Judd Apatow’s lawsuit seeking coverage for flood damage at his Malibu, Calif., home, ruling that he failed to comply with the one-year limitations period in his Standard Flood Insurance Policy.

In a Dec. 21 order, Judge Michael Fitzgerald of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California held that the policy required Apatow to file suit in federal court within one year of the insurer’s denial of coverage.
