7th Cir. Upholds Summary Judgment Award to Insurer in Church Property Damage Action

CHICAGO — A federal appeals court has upheld an award of summary judgment to an insurer in a windstorm damage action, ruling that the trial court did not abuse its discretion in ruling that the policyholder failed to prove that the weather caused the damage on the date it claimed.

On Jan. 13, the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals said the trial court properly examined the evidence submitted and that its conclusion was not erroneous.
