Defendants’ Motion to Strike Denied in Calif. Federal Blood-Thinning Test Products Lawsuit

SAN DIEGO — A California federal judge has denied defendants’ motion to strike references to a study involving blood-clotting drugs in an action concerning its recall of blood-clotting testing products, ruling that the study may be relevant to plaintiffs’ claims.

On Jan. 17, Judge Gonzalo Curiel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California said it cannot be determined at this time whether it is relevant to the plaintiffs’ claims that the defendant’s products allegedly yielded inaccurate study results which played a role in the FDA’s approval of the blood-thinning drug Xarelto.
