Zimmer Backs Subpoena Served on Consulting Group, Says It's Entitled to Discovery on Screening Activity

CHICAGO –– Zimmer Inc. has filed a response to a plaintiff motion to quash a subpoena served on a consulting services group, maintaining that it has a right to view the group’s involvement and potential screening activity related to pending NexGen knee implant claims.

In a motion to quash all subpoenas issued by defendant to Physicians Medical Review filed on Oct. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the plaintiffs argued that the subpoenas were “merely instruments intended to harass and delay the broader litigation.”
