NEW ORLEANS –– A Louisiana federal court has precluded three asbestos plaintiff experts from testifying on specific causation, calling their “each and every significant exposure” theory a “skillfully cloaked” attempt to rely on “little more” than unproven statements.

In the Oct. 6 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana wrote that the three experts could testify as to general causation.

The court was asked to weigh in on the plaintiffs’ expert testimony by defendants who said that the experts relied on “each and every exposure” theories of causation.
