ST. LOUIS –– Imerys Talc America has opposed recent efforts by talcum powder plaintiffs to amend their complaint, arguing that the plaintiffs are attempting to “improperly join the distinct personal injury claims of an unknown number of additional plaintiffs from an unknown number of states.”

In the Aug. 17 opposition brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the defendant said that the plaintiffs’ motion to amend does not state the number of plaintiffs they seek to add, where those potential plaintiffs reside, and whether the proposed plaintiffs share any common facts with either plaintiff.
