Golden Isles Urges Ga. Federal Judge to Deny Canal’s Motion to Amend Complaint

ATLANTA — Golden Isles Reinsurance Co. has asked a Georgia federal judge to deny Canal Insurance Co.’s motion to amend its complaint to add as a defendant an individual who received an alleged fraudulent cash transfer from the reinsurer, arguing that Canal has failed to establish personal jurisdiction over that individual.
In an Aug. 10 opposition filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Golden Isles further argues that Canal has failed to allege a plausible claim against the individual.
