Pinnacle Hip Implant Plaintiffs Oppose Defense Efforts to Expedite Appeal of $502 Million Verdict

NEW ORLEANS –– A group of plaintiffs asserting claims relating to DePuy’s Pinnacle hip implant that were awarded $502 million by a jury have opposed recent defense efforts to expedite the appeal of the verdict, arguing that the record was far too voluminous to be handled on an expedited basis.

The jury verdict was reached in the five cases in March; earlier this month, Judge Ed Kinkeade of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas reduced the award from $502 million total to approximately $151 million.
