Plaintiff Asserts Talc-Based Powder Claims in Illinois Federal Court, Says She Had Both Ovaries and Fallopian Tubes Removed

CHICAGO -- An Illinois resident has filed a talcum powder lawsuit in Illinois federal court, contending that there was never any indication that normal use of the products would cause her to develop ovarian cancer.

Plaintiff Barbara Ross filed the complaint on July 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, contending that the defendants' negligent and wrongful conduct caused her to develop ovarian cancer.

Ross said that she regularly used Johnson & Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower products. Ross, born in 1975, used the talc-based powder products daily since 1972.
