Imerys Talc Files Motion to Dismiss Talcum Powder Suit for Lack of Personal Jurisdiction

ST. LOUIS – Imerys Talc America Inc. has filed a motion to dismiss a talc-based powder exposure suit, saying that it cannot be subject to personal jurisdiction in Missouri simply because it maintains a registered agent for service of process in the state.

In a June 28 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Imerys Talc America Inc. maintained that, as a raw material supplier of talc, it has not consented to personal jurisdiction in Missouri.
