NEW YORK — Yosemite Insurance Co. is urging a New York federal court to vacate a reinsurance arbitration award, arguing that the umpire did not disclose his past representation of a reinsurer in an arbitration that involved a nearly identical treaty to the one at issue in the present dispute.

Yosemite asserts that due to the umpire’s failure to disclose, it was unable to question him with regard to his potential bias. The petition, originally filed in the New York County Supreme Court, was removed by Nationwide to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on …
