PASADENA, Calif. –– The 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has issued a split decision in an appeal of a summary judgment award to two asbestos defendants, saying that while the defendants could not be held liable for replacement parts manufactured by a third party, there was evidence that could support a finding that the decedent was exposed to asbestos-containing spare packing and gaskets supplied by the parties.
