CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A Tennessee federal judge has granted Medtronic judgment on the pleadings in a cardiac catheter action, ruling that the plaintiff failed to establish a causal link between the defendant’s alleged violations of federal law and his injuries.

In a June 4 order, Judge Travis R. McDonough of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee further held that the plaintiff failed to allege how Medtronic violated a state law by failing to warn the Food and Drug Administration of adverse events associated with the device.
