11th Circuit Affirms Summary Judgment Award for Crane Co. in Asbestos Case

ATLANTA –– The 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has affirmed an award of summary judgment entered in favor of Crane Co., finding that the plaintiffs had failed to establish that the decedent’s injuries were proximately caused by a product manufactured, supplied, or negligently designed by the defendant.

In a May 27 opinion, the 11th Circuit opined that the plaintiffs had failed to present testimony that the replacement gaskets and packing material used to maintain and repair the Crane Co. valves were manufactured or distributed by the defendant.
