CHARLESTON, W. Va. — A West Virginia federal magistrate judge has ordered the plaintiff in a BHR System hip replacement action to produce a complete list of her healthcare providers, holding that “given the broad nature of the damage claims,” Smith & Nephew is entitled to broad discovery of the plaintiff’s medical and emotional history.

In the May 4 order, Magistrate Judge Cheryl A. Eifert of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia also ordered the plaintiff to produce materials related to disability and unemployment benefits she sought or received, finding they are relevant to her …
