Report Says Fewer Than 550 Cases Remain on Asbestos National Multidistrict Litigation Docket

PHILADELPHIA –– A report issued by a Pennsylvania federal court says that fewer than 550 cases remain on the national coordinated asbestos multidistrict litigation docket, down from more than 50,000 eight years ago and from 11,000 cases that were pending in the docket when the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ceased transferring new cases five years ago.

According to a report issued in March, the total of cases pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as of Feb. 29, was 546.
