Plaintiffs Object to Proposed Settlement of Durom Hip Cup MDL Claims

NEWARK, N.J. –– A number of plaintiffs with claims pending in the national docket for claims relating to Zimmer’s Durom Hip Cup Products have objected to a recent global settlement proposal, saying that forcing them to settle the claims goes beyond the court’s authority.

On March 11, counsel for the defendants and claimants’ liaison counsel had filed a proposed Case Management Order in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey regarding the pending settlement agreement and a proposed letter for the court to send to state court judges overseeing similar dockets.
