Mo. Federal Judge Transfers Paxil Birth Defect Action to Middle District of Florida

ST. LOUIS — A Missouri federal judge has transferred a Paxil birth defect case to the Middle District of Florida, ruling that the parties and facts have a greater connection to that district.
In a Feb. 8 order, Judge Carol Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri explained that the plaintiffs are Florida residents, defendant GlaxoSmithKline LLC marketed and distributed Paxil in the state, and plaintiffs’ alleged injuries occurred in Florida.
